I was just wondering, What's the point of that?
my theory is that people have racked up points by cheating like with the anagram things. and, i! need! a solution to these cheaters! else I'll! go! mad! Yesterday it was almost funny! I found 159 anagrams in the same time it took those lovely people to find 300, 500, 600. boy was i mad when they knocked me off the chart! :(
Yeah, it would also be good for those who have joined the sight recently. Us zone veterans have a very unfare advantage. Problem is, those ppl who got all there points that way, will still rack up the points cheating. At least it makes it fare for those newer honest members.
I feel that everyone seems to know who the cheaters are in the anagram game. We are not being allowed to get near the top. I love anagrams, and play it, but although I have a vast vocabulary, I never get to the top. Setting the people's points is still allowing people to continue to cheat. Where is the penalty to them? So, when the points are set, they and we who don't cheat, lose the points we've worked hard to get. Why must those of us be penalized for their dishonesty?
it is unfortunate that those who work so hard to acquire their points should be penalized as a result of dishonesty exhibited by a select few. resetting the points certainly will not discourage the dishonest persons. i noticed that despite the fact anagrams were announced later in the day the same few folks found the over 500 and 600 words for specific words in a short period of time! anagrams should be fun2 play! i cannot ouderstand how the words are input so quickly! there are times i wait several seconds before hearing the buzzer or the bell! we all know who the dishonest ones are! if their dishonesty takes place here, it's clear the same happens in their daily lives! i play the game because it's fun, bub admittedly, i do become discouraged after working so hard to build words that the same few are on the top! should they be the ones penalized! most folks are genuinely and honestly playing the game! i have no problem with points being reset, but thus will not eliminate the anagram mania dishonesty! just my genuine thoughts! i'm using my pac mate so excuse my errors!

people who are playing anagram mania honestly have
to be pennalized with the points being reset. It's
quite interesting that the same people are always
finding the maximum number of words for each anagram daily. This is unfair to those of us who are playing honestly.
You all see now, this is why I believe that everyone should only be able to find a certain number of words, and no more then that even if there are more annigrams that can be found. That won't discourage the cheaters, but it'll still limit the number of points that they can get while cheating.
I'm a little confused, mad dog! Actually, if we are told we can find only a possible 625 words, once a person reaches 625, they can't go any farther. I found all 128 words once and could not add words. I really feel there should not be any such thing as the top five. Yes, it's rewarding, but if the same few are always winning, then no one has a chance. I think it would be best if we were to see only the number of words we find. Then at the end of the day, there can be a results section if necessary. I feel discouraged enough that it is my contention the dishonest ones will remain that way! I'm still struggling to get today's words and don't even have 100 yet that I know of and I am really good at anagrams myself. People have no shame nor do they appear to have guilty consciences regarding their dishonesty. I wouldn't be able to sleep nights if I continually cheated just to reach the top. It's impossible to reach the top all the time. I have a friend who taught language and has such a large vocabulary and even at that, she said it takes even sighted folks hours and hours to work at words. That's just my story and I'm stickin' too it! Smiles. Just be honest in playing. We don't need to be accountable for the actions of others; just our own.
I do agree that there are people cheating, but wait... what do we mean by cheating? Is using a dictionary cheating? What about using a braillelite or braillenote? And what if one uses the MS Word spelling checker to seek out more words, is that cheating? What if one has a Franklin talking dictinary and uses it to find words, is that cheating, too? Now what about someone using an anagram generator, is that cheating then? So... unless one can come up and CLEARLY define what is cheating I feel that all and each one of us who uses any, some or every of the "helpfull" devices I listed above is a CHEATER, whether we like it or not.
I think we went, or you went of-topic. This is about a reset points. Onestly, I have seen users from may of 2004, and they have reached 70000 somethink points. I think points are just for making this fun. Ah! after a hard word twisting my brain there will be a points reset. Well, I would like to start from zero.
Yes, the points reset has little to do with the cheaters. We were probably going to do it periodically for new users, anyway. We'll see.

I agree! A points reset would be a good thing to do! We'll all start afresh. It just sounds nice. We're all on the same page!
Ok here are some questions:
- Why some games cost points to play and others don't?
- Why should I loose my points but still have to 'pay' points to play the Guessing Game or Keno? If my points re reset to 500 I can only play 50 games before my points go to zero. Now I can play for hours if I like and still have enough points.
- Why should I be punished by having my points remove every time some people deside to join this website? Some of them only sign in once or so and never come back. So why should those who have been loyal to this website and come here regularly be punished for the sake of newbees? I don't get it!
Since the points thing is more for fun than anything, I don't have a problem with resetting them from time to time. About the thought of losing large amounts of points, you got them once and you can get them again. About the cheating, it's only that if you use an anagram generator. If you're using other stuff like franklyn, word or even a dictionary, you're still making an effort so that's cool as far as I'm concerned. As far as what I think about the reset, I think users that are vetrans in the zone should be given some consideration. I don't know how technically possible it is to grant someone who was here say for six months a little break by maybe letting them keep 5000 points instead of taking them back to 500 or something like that..
For points, I don't mind. They are as you said just for fun. I think using a dictionary (I did that) doesn't give you all words. There were an anagram of 230 word and frankling found 120 posible convinations. So, you cannot cheat anyway, or you cannot be in the top
